Verdi - Aida - Act 2 scene 1 by LivingHorus

Excellent. It conveys the luxury of Amneris' apartments, while forming a good organic space for the action of the scene.
I am particularly taken with the delicacy and the airy quality conveyed by the use of the papyrus motif on the draperies in this set.

The stark sunlight is especially well used here- light, revealing the truth: of Aida's love for Radames, of Amneris's jelousy, and of her
feigned concerns for Aida.
I am also delighted that you chose a traditional setting, so much to be preferred over the sometimes embarrassing and comical attempts to "modernize" or to clumsily drive home some political or social comment.

Evviva! you have done so well!

Please, now show us your designs for the rest of the opera!

Thanks so much for the critique. I'm currently working through the rest of the opera so will post more scenes as they are finished.
